A warm but overcast day greeted the team as they arrived at the Snake Pit for the first home game of the season.

Another week on the road, as the women’s squad journeyed out to Donvale to clash with Whitefriars.

Preparing pre game in the visitors change rooms that might be generously described as having the footprint of a medium sized postage stamp certainly added a cozy element to many player’s pre-game rituals!

Outside an 8 goal “breeze” was swirling, with rain coming in sideways for good effect.

Round 16 against Point Cook at Salt water Reserve, last time against Point Cook we were beaten by a big margin so this week we were hoping that a win could be on the cards. The conditions were windy once again so scoring will be difficult.

The first quarter we actually keep with them early with our backline holding up well, we kicked our first goal through Boyd with good ball movement and with other options up forward we kicked our second through Dylan .We worked hard for our goals with Boldy giving us plenty our drive out on the wing helping set up a 4 point lead at the break. This first quarter was one of our better efforts for the season as we normally have been slow starters.

Round 15 against La Trobe at the snake pit, last time against La Trobe we were beaten fairly convincingly so with the side we had in I was expecting a better performance today. The conditions over the last weeks have been windy so we should be used to it by now, scoring can be done at either end of the ground.
