The 4th of July will be the date for one of the most popular events on the Canterbury Football Club social calender, the annual Cobra Ball.
The event will be held at the Savoy Tavern on Bourke Street, and will be a casual cocktail style evening with entertainment provided by past player Andy Buntin’s band “Second Chance”. The Ball is an opportunity for players, past players, friends, families and partners to socialise and get to know each other.
Club President BJ Lashbrook explained that every ball held by the club has been a successful, enjoyable night and this year looks to be no different. The President said Canterbury are focused on making everyone feel a part of the club, and creating a family friendly football club. Events like this contribute to that atmosphere, and helps build a strong relationship with everyone involved.
The club encourages everyone to come along to the night and help celebrate the 134th anniversary of the club’s inception.
“The Cobra Ball is always a really enjoyable night and it’s a pleasure to see so many people get involved every year.”
“It’s considered an important event as it allows everyone to get together, get to know each other further and enjoy themselves for an evening.”
“Partners, friends and family are also encouraged to come along to enjoy the night.”
