The club was deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of one of our all time great players, Keith James, aged 81.
Keith was playing coach in our first division premiership of 1969 (first images) and played in our 1972 premiership team (second images). James, after being at North Melbourne, became a star forward at Williamstown under his brother in law, Williamstown legend Gerry “The Monster” Callaghan. Recruited to Canterbury as playing coach he made a name as a star forward and was known for his strong dominating play. Until his health declined he was a regular attendee to our annual Past Players Day.
Our thoughts are with the entire James family during this difficult time.
The funeral will be held at 10am on Friday 4th March at Tobin Brothers Funerals, 147 Park Road, Cheltenham. The service will also be streamed online via the Tobin Brothers website.
