We’re deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of club life member John “JB” Bennett.

JB started playing for us in the early 60s and stayed on as a volunteer and committee member after he finished playing.

A familiar face around the club attending games home and away, as well as many social events, until recent years when his health declined. JB was always a regular at the annual past players day where his sense of humour was on show, it was great to see him there just a couple of months ago in June.

After our seniors made the 2015 grand final we needed to nominate someone to present the medallions in the event we won. JB was a popular choice and appreciated the opportunity.

Our deepest condolences go out to Julie and family at this incredibly difficult time.

A service to celebrate JB’s life will be held at 10am on Friday 2nd September at Le Pine Funerals, 339 Warrigal Road, Burwood.

The club won’t be the same without you, JB.
